Dr. Carmen von Nell-Breuning
continues the family winemaking tradition in the 11th generation.
"Our wines are crafted with great care and entirely by hand on the steep slate slopes of the Ruwer Valley – a cool, tranquil side valley of the Mosel. We work biodynamically, in tune with the rhythm of the seasons, with a mindful eye on the soil, our vines, and our animals.
The cool climate of the Ruwer lends our wines lightness and tension, while the slate brings depth and minerality. Spontaneous fermentation, extended ageing on the lees, and minimal intervention in the cellar allow wines to develop their own character – precise, pure, and subtle in expression.
They bear my family's signature: delicate lightness, tension, and a distinct sense of origin."

All our vineyards are literally mountains of wine. They capture the sun's rays and allow the wind to roam between the vines.

In our vineyards in the Ruwer Valley, all work on the vines is carried out entirely by hand.
We have been practising biodynamic viticulture since 2019 and, in 2023, became the first Demeter-certified winery in the Ruwer Valley. We stopped using herbicides back in 2013, driven by our conviction that viticulture should work in harmony with nature.
