Dr. Carmen von Nell-Breuning
Continues the family winemaking tradition in the 11th generation
"Our wines are crafted with great care by hand in the steep slate slopes of the Ruwer Valley – a cool, tranquil side valley of the Mosel. We work biodynamically, in tune with the rhythm of the seasons, with a mindful eye on the soil, our vines, and our animals.
The cool climate of the Ruwer lends our wines lightness and tension; the slate adds depth and minerality. Spontaneous fermentation, extended time on the lees, and the absence of additives allow wines to emerge that are self-sufficient – precise, pure, and subtle in expression.
They bear my family’s signature: delicate lightness, tension, and a strong sense of origin."

All our vineyards are literally mountains of wine. They capture the sun's rays and allow the wind to roam between the vines.

In our vineyards on the Ruwer, we do all work on the vines by hand.
We have been working according to biodynamic principles since 2019, and we have been the first Demeter-certified winery on the Ruwer River since 2023. We already implemented the herbicide ban in 2013 out of conviction.
